Lalos’n Charlie’s Brief History

1978
Carlos Anderson and Charlie Skipsey gets to Leon willing to open a shoe shop. They take a tour about the city with Lalo Castillo as the driver. The only property available at that moment is the Aloha coffee shop. The idea takes a detour; they buy the property and invite Lalo as partner so they wouldn’t have to pay his driver’s fees. Lalos’n Charlie’s opening is in January, 1978.

1980
The restrooms began to be constructed; previously, customers were taken to the Sanborns at the street corner.

1984
One customer ate 12 “Arriero” Filets on the same day.

1988
Nothing happened.

1991
Here, the bread was baked since the beginning, but it was until this year that it finally tasted delicious.

1998
Staff and customers went on demonstration so that Alma Rosa, manager, buys a TV for watching the Fifa World Cup.

2000
The “Restaurant Today and Maybe Tomorrow” magazine named Lalos’ as “The most known restaurant among all the unknown ones”.

2002
Alma Rosa buys the TV… black & white.

2005
The Cannibal United Association organized a banquette here, and, instead of eating the Chicken Fajitas, they had a “BBQ waiter”.

2006
